Grandview Middle School this past Monday hosted the 31st annual Yakima Valley Beginning Band Festival, organized by Ted Brown Music. The event brings together beginning band students from Bickleton, Finley, Harrah, Harrison Middle School in Sunnyside, Grandview, Prosser, Sunnyside’s Sierra Vista Middle School and Sunnyside Christian Elementary School for a day of enrichment. This year’s guest conductor was Ed Cunnington, who teaches music students at Wilson Middle School in Yakima. A concert for family and friends of the students capped the day’s event.
