Receiving scholarship funds will make the post high school dreams of Danika DeGroot and Alexandra Newhouse more attainable, thanks to Soroptimists International of The Lower Yakima Valley. Last Thursday, the Sunnyside Christian High School seniors were presented their scholarships at the Soroptimists breakfast meeting in their honor. Newhouse, who is headed to Montana State University to study pre-veterinary sciences, received $2,000. DeGroot, who will attend Azusa Pacific University to study nursing, received $1,500.
