Government continues rampant growth

The agricultural industry is now being besieged with the implementation of the Food Safety Act. Farmers, transporters, food processors, handlers and distributors will be required to invest significant time and money to comply with even more government mandates and regulations.

I'm certainly not a person to be against the intended consequences of most government programs, but the government, by over-reaching its Constitutional authority, seems to almost always fail with its intentions, or creates unsustainable outcomes at the expense of the private sector.

The war on poverty and drugs has been a failure. The creation of Social Security and Medicare are unsustainable. The creation of the Lottery system that was crammed down our throats in this state, with the intention of solving all the problems of financing basic education, has been a total farce.

There will be three definitive consequences the Food Safety Act will achieve. 1) The cost of food for the American consumer will dramatically go up; 2) this government program will increase the rate of small farms going extinct, which, the government always claims it's trying to preserve; 3) this program will continue to grow government at a faster pace than the private sector, which, is totally unsustainable.

This is the reason why we, as Americans, are losing more and more of oru freedoms and liberties, and why the US of A is going broke!

The premise of government controlling the outcomes in any society is an illusion. But yet we continue to bend over and allow this rampant government growth and waste of our hard-earned dollars.
