Howard Raymond Coder, 88, of Wapato and a former Sunnyside resident died on Sunday Jan. 28, 2012, at Emerald Care in Wapato.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923 in Ulysses, Kansas.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Stomp of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Patricia Coder of Eugene, Ore.; four brothers, Dale Coder, Russell Coder, George Coder and Dick Coder; and four sisters, Janice Bottineau, Maxine Walker, Marjorie Bridger and Mary Bedker; and one grandson.
A celebration of Mr. Coder's life for family members will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Zillah Adventist Church.
Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematory in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
