OBITUARY

ROBERTA MONROE GRAHAM

Roberta Monroe Graham, 93, of Sunnyside passed away on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.

She was born May 9, 1917 in Milton-Freewater, Ore. to Nathan and Libby Monroe. They settled in the Granger- Alfalfa area, where they farmed.

Roberta attended Alfalfa School and graduated from Granger High School in 1935.

In 1938 she married Bruce Graham in Yakima. Together they had three sons, Larry, Terry and Merle.

Mrs. Graham was a member of the Granger PTA, Sunnyside General Hospital Guild, AARP, Liberty Community Methodist Church and Retired Senior Volunteers Program, where she worked with the older American Nutrition Program in Sunnyside. Later she supervised the same program in Union Gap.

Previously to that she was a cook for the Granger School District at the old Liberty School. She then was employed as a cook for Sunnyside General Hospital retiring in 1979.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; three sons, Larry (Julie) of Selah, Terry (Gladys) of Sunnyside and Merle (Linda) of Granger; 11 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Floyd, Glen, Chester and Charles; and two sisters, Nina Thomas and Eleanor Liska.

Roberta loved her kitchen and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

At her request there will be no services.
