Erma Williams, 75, of Mabton, passed away Sat., May 3, 2008, at Kadlec Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1932 to William Peter and Alma (Trumbo) Anderson in Goldendale. As a young woman, she was a member and officer of the Goldendale Rainbow Assembly. After high school, she worked at the National Bank of Commerce until she married. On January 8, 1955, she married Earl Williams in Goldendale. The Williams' made their home in Mabton. She attended the Grace Brethren Church of Mabton. She was a member of the Mabton Rebecca Lodge, the Forcefulfew Club, a club that no longer exists in which women organized projects for the community, including Santa's Workshop. She was also a Campfire leader and a member of the Friends of the Library. She enjoyed crafts, beading and customizing greeting cards. Erma is survived by her daughter, Earla Ann Williams of Malaysia; one brother, Ervin Anderson (Linda) of Goldendale; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Earl. Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 2 until 5 p.m. and Thursday, May 8, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at the Mabton Cemetery.
