ROBERT CUEVAS

Robert Cuevas, 47, of Pasco and a former Sunnyside resident went to rest with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his home.

Robert was born Jan. 5, 1962 in Toppenish to Manuel and Consuelo Cuevas.

He was a handyman and a mechanic.

He enjoyed doing any kind of job for anyone.

Robert had a good sense of humor being around anybody.

He is survived by one son, Robert Cuevas Jr. of Seattle; two stepchildren, Ray and Holly Elizondo, both of Sunnyside and Crystal M. Cuevas of Yakima; two sisters, Juanita Posada of Pasco and Maria Yolanda (Xavier) Castro of Granger; three brothers, Juan Manuel (Elda) Cuevas, Frank (Charlene) Cuevas and Rick Cuevas, all of Yakima; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held today, Dec. 2, 2009, at 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Granger, with burial to follow at Zillah Cemetery.

Columbia Memorial Funeral Chapel in Pasco was in charge of arrangements.

JANICE I. EASTRIDGE

Janice (Jan) Illeen Eastridge, 71, of Castle Rock passed away at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, after a long battle with cancer.

Jan was born Sept. 13, 1938 in Yakima to Morley and Ann Kerr. She had an exciting start to life, born in a car enroute to the hospital. From there she never slowed down.

She attended school in Sunnyside. She married Robert Eastridge in 1955. They settled in Kelso, where they raised their family. Jan and Bob had four sons. Their second son, Terry Lee passed away at the age of three months.

Jan loved gardening, canning vegetables, baking, shopping at garage sales, sewing and doing home improvement projects. Most of all, she loved her family. She was very involved with her grandchildren and spent much time with each of them over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her mother, Ann Kerr; her children, Jim (Debbie) Eastridge of Castle Rock, Mike (Jody) Eastridge of Battle Ground and Terry (Vicky) Eastridge of Longview; two sisters, Shirley (George Price) Colley and Sandy (Mike) Burrows; a brother, Marvin (Joyce) Kerr; her grandchildren, Eddie Eastridge, Alan (Hope) Eastridge, Shaun Eastridge and Molly Eastridge; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her father, Morley Kerr; one son, Terry Lee; a grandson, Bobby Jo; and a sister, Nila Simmons on Nov. 17, 2007.

A private service will be held.
