Castaneda garners win for Grandview

ELLENSBURG - The Grandview Lady 'Hounds swim team succumbed to its opponents yesterday, 106-56.

A few bright spots for Grandview, however, were Samanta Castaneda's first place time of 6:55.65 in the 500-yard freestyle race in Ellensburg and Josie Trevino's second place time of 3:21.50 in the 200-yard individual medley race.

The Grandview team also earned second, third and fourth place honors in the 100-yard backstroke race. Tagging the end of the pool in ribbon-winning times were Viannei Perez (1:31.33), Zulema Valencia (1:37.38) and Kassidy Hurst (1.38.13).

The Grandview Lady 'Hounds swim team is set to compete next at the Mukilteo Invite this Saturday, Oct. 6, at the King County Aquatic Center.
