Merry Makings Craft Fair to feature special booth honoring lives of those lost

Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care is sponsoring a booth, "A Heart for the Season," at the Merry Makings Craft Fair in Sunnyside's Mid Valley Mall this coming Friday through Sunday, Nov. 20-Dec. 2.

At the booth, community members and shoppers will have the opportunity to memorialize someone they love by writing the individual's name on a dove. The dove can be placed on a Christmas tree that will be set up during the event.

Staff from Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care will also be selling ornaments as a fundraiser for the organization's many programs.

The craft fair will be held Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care will also be hosting a special memorial service and luminary walk on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. at the Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care facility, located at 3920 Outlook Road in Sunnyside.

This event is being organized to provide members of the community a way to remember a loved one who has died whether in hospice care or not.

Community members who wish to remember a loved one who has died will be offered the opportunity to label a bag in memory of a loved one.

There is no charge to participate in the memorial service on Dec. 4.
