IDA IRENE SIMPSON

Ida Irene Simpson, 85, of Toppenish and a former Sunnyside resident, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, surrounded by her family.

Ida was born June 5, 1927 in Mott, N.D., the daughter of Godfred and Pauline (Sutnik) Radach. She received her education in North Dakota.

On Jan. 5, 1946 she married Ervin Simpson in Sunnyside. Following their marriage they made their home in Sunnyside and raised five beautiful children.

Ida loved music, dancing and gardening. She was an excellent cook, and liked every holiday, Easter being her favorite.

She was a long-time member of the Eagles Lodge in Toppenish, where she loved to socialize and dance

Ida is survived by five children, Patricia (Clifford) Chambers of Coos Bay, Ore., Judith Davis-Delquadri of Zillah, Myrna Schwarzwalter of Union Gap, Donna MaKinnon of Roy and Tamara Simpson of Yelm; 11 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; and one brother, Alex (Ann) Radach of Grandview.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday Dec. 1, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., with funeral services to follow at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
