Nunez sentenced to 2-1/2 years for third voyeurism conviction
November 30, 2012
YAKIMA - Victor Manuel Nunez, 47, of Sunnyside has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for voyeurism.
Last month, the convicted sex offender who has served two other stints in prison for the same crime, pled guilty to charges related to a June 5, 2012 incident.
Nunez was accused of following a woman into the bathroom at Sunnyside's JCPenney. He was looking under the stall the woman had entered.
He was arrested and Sunnyside police requested he be charged with voyeurism.
This past Tuesday he was sentenced in Yakima County Superior Court to serve a longer sentence than he had for his previous two convictions.
Yakima County Prosecutor Jared Boswell was in charge of the case and said Nunez in 2003 served a sentence of 15 days in a work release program. In 2008, Nunez was convicted of a second voyeurism charge and served a 94-day jail sentence.
He is a registered sex offender.
Boswell last month noted Nunez is also on an immigration hold and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will decide his fate after the sentence is completed.
