December should be wetter than usual

Sunnyside's weather in December is predicted to have near-normal temperatures but above normal precipitation.
The National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center says normal day time highs for Sunnyside may range from 43 degrees at the start of December to 37 degrees at month's end. Normal night time lows are expected to range from 27 degrees to 24 degrees.
According to preliminary data received by the National Weather Service in Pendleton Ore., temperatures in Sunnyside averaged near normal during the month of November.
The average temperature was 41 degrees, which was at normal. High day time temperatures averaged 48.3 degrees, which was 3 degrees below normal. The highest temperature during the month was 67 degrees on Nov. 6.
Low night time temperatures in Sunnyside during the month of November averaged 33.8 degrees, which was 3.1 degrees above normal. The lowest was 21 degrees, on Nov. 11.
There were 12 days in November with the low temperature reaching below freezing (32 degrees).
Precipitation totaled 1.28 inches during November, which was 0.37 inches above normal. Measurable precipitation -at least .01 inch- was received on 17 days with the heaviest, 0.30 inches, reported on Nov. 12.
Precipitation this year in Sunnyside has reached 8.59 inches, which is 2.36 inches above normal.
