Police seeking murder suspect find another felon in SunnysideDecember 05, 2012 Sunnyside police yesterday (Tuesday) were looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in another jurisdiction. Although they did not find the individual whom they were seeking at an apartment in the 100 block of West Edison Avenue, officers with the Sunnyside gang unit located another suspect wanted by the Department of Corrections. Joshue Sarabia, 20, was located at the address and police say he had a felony warrant, as well as three domestic violence protection orders against him. The protection orders were filed on behalf of a female who was in the apartment with Sarabia, according to police. Officers took him into custody and obtained a search warrant for the residence. When searching the apartment, police say, two handguns were found. One of the guns had an altered serial number. Also found inside the apartment was methamphetamine, according to police. Sunnyside police say Sarabia faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, alteration of identifying marks and three counts of violating a protection order. Sarabia is a convicted felon and a documented gang member, according to police. |
