Orchard House urges public to bag up their pills for medical review
January 08, 2013
GRANDVIEW - The public is invited to a Brown Bag Medication Review on Thursday, Jan. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Orchard House (2001 W. Fifth St.) in Grandview.
The medication review is a good opportunity to ask questions about medications and to bring a family member or friend in to review their medications.
People who have chronic conditions may routinely take many different kinds of medications. Often the medication may need to be adjusted as a person's health changes.
Some people also have medications prescribed by different doctors, particularly if they visit specialists. These situations can lead to a great deal of confusion when taking medications.
Orchard House official suggest putting all prescription medications, any over-the-counter medications, herbal remedies, vitamins, "natural products", creams, ointments or supplements a person is using into a bag to bring along and have evaluated.
A consultant from Evergreen Pharmacy will be present to review medications with people, look for potential problems and answer questions.
