OBITUARY

TONY D. PALOMAREZ

Our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Tony D. Palomarez, 67, of Sunnyside went to be in the arms of his heavenly Father on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, surrounded by his precious family.

Tony was born Jan. 17, 1945 in Toppenish, the son of David H. and Maria Asencion (Del Rio) Palomarez. He received his education in Toppenish.

On June 27, 1961 he married the love of his life, Yolanda Perez in Sunnyside.

Tony began his working career on the family farm. He later was a foreman for Newhouse Ranches and completed his working career as a member of the Laborer's Local 348.

Tony enjoyed working in the garden with his wife Yola, building birdhouses, camping at Maryhill Park, playing softball and attending family gatherings at the Palomarez Ranch.

He and Yolanda were very proud to go and watch their children and grandchildren's sporting events, also spending time with their great-grandchildren.

Tony was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda P. Palomarez of Sunnyside; three daughters, Lola (Jeff) Serl and Toni Palomarez, both of Sunnyside, and Marina (Matt) Wilcox of Yakima; two sons, David "Chief" (Gretchen) Palomarez and Harvey (Tracie) Palomarez, both of Sunnyside; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony, D.J, Christina, Samantha, Nicholas, Tayler, Trey, Jacob, Tori, Allison and Nathaniel; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, J.J, Ellyana and Elijah; numerous nieces and nephews; five brothers; Wally Palomarez, Roy (Blanca) Palomarez, Rudy (Elenor) Palomarez, Nick (Laura) Palomarez and Ruben (Peggy) Palomarez; and five sisters, Teresa (Miguel) Anaya, Carolina (Raymundo) Rivas, Margaret Palomarez, Susie Palomarez and Nora Palomarez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Maria Palomarez; three brothers, John D. Palomarez, Manuel J. Palomarez and David P. Palomarez; two sons, David Palomarez and Tony Palomarez Jr.; and two uncles, John H. Palomarez and Frank H. Palomarez.

Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, from 3 to 8 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
