Running Start informational meetings planned for Lower Valley in February

Yakima Valley Community College will be hosting several informational meetings about the Running Start program for sophomores and juniors at local high schools.
The program, available to students during their junior and senior years of high school, provides eligible students the opportunity to enroll in college courses at the Grandview and Yakima campuses of Yakima Valley Community College.
Students enrolled in Running Start receive both high school and college credits for the courses taken at the college.
The informational nights will be held at Sunnyside High School on Monday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m.; Mabton High School on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m.; Granger High School on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m.; and at the Grandview YVCC campus at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, March 6 and 7.
Running Start gives students a head start on college, provides them with the opportunity to select diverse classes, helps students transition to college life and prepares them for the future.
