BARBARA WICKHAM

January 31, 2013

Born Sept. 24, 1934 in Wendell, Idaho to Melvin A. and Mary Adgey (Ott) Grindstaff, Barbara Wickham, 78, of Sunnyside passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013.

She grew up in Jerome, Idaho, and attended Jerome High School.

Barbara married Max Wickham in December of 1955 in Elko, Nev. They moved their family to Sunnyside in 1959.

Barbara was secretary of the Washington State Cattle Feeders Association, member of Nuovella Club and Republican Precinct Committee Woman.

Barbara and Max worked for Walls, later Walco International. Barbara opened and operated a successful western wear store, The Livery Barn, on Sixth Street in 1967. She later drove school bus for the Sunnyside School District for 17 years. She had many fond memories of her bus kids.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Max Wickham; brother, Toby (Ann) Grindstaff of Boise, Idaho; sister, Mary Gail (Doug) Standlee of Boise; her children, David (Cindy) Wickham of Ellensburg, Mike (Gloria) Wickham of Meridian, Idaho and Theresa (Loran) Hancock of Sunnyside; her grandchildren, Jamie Jo (Jake) Watson and Matt (Olivia) Sorensen, all of Boise, Cheyenne (Gary) LaViolette of West Richland, Jeremiah (Aimee) Wickham of Nampa, Idaho, Derek (Dawn) Wickham and Blake (Sara) Wickham, all of Meridian, Chris Trammel of Sunnyside, Josh (Megan) Wickham of Ellensburg and Jordan (Mariah) Wickham of Ellensburg; 10 great- grandchildren, Max, Kayla, Emma, Katelyn, Micah, Elise, Lilith, Rogue, SophieAnn and Sawyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Barbara's request, there will be no formal services.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers.
