SUNNYSIDE — A coffee social is planned to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Dan and Brenda Kephart of Sunnyside. The social, which will include cake and ice cream, is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 12 at Sunnyside United Methodist Church, 906 E. Edison Ave. The event is open to family and friends. The couple was married June 10, 1966 in Nampa, Idaho. They have lived in Sunnyside for the past 47 years. They have two children, Scot Kephart and Suzy Kephart, three grandchildren, Shayla, Savanna and Siena. Both are retired Sunnyside School District teachers – he at the junior high and high school and she worked at Lincoln and Chief Kamiakin elementary schools.
Copenhaver and Walter
SUNNYSIDE – Elecia Walter and Austin Copenhaver have set Aug. 12 for their late afternoon wedding at the Savanna Bible Church in Savanna, ILL. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Douglas and Janice Walter of Elizabeth, ILL. A graduate of West Carroll High School, Walter earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management from Grace College in 2011. She currently is a marketing and communication coordinator at Benton REA in Prosser. The bridegroom is the son of David and Kathie Copenhaver of Sunnyside. A 2006 graduate of Sunnyside High School, he is a 2010 graduate of Grace College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management of information systems. He currently works as a system’s administrator for H.R. Spinner in Yakima.
Boyd and Pat McLean’s children will host a party in honor of their parents’ 60th wedding anniversary. The celebration is from 1:30-4:30 p.m. June 18, in the Sunnyside Eagles, 100 E. South Hill Road. Boyd McLean and Pat Meiser were married on June 9, 1956, in Lewiston, Idaho. He retired from operating Boyd’s Barbershop and continued to operate Boyd’s Auto Wrecking. Mrs. McLean is retired from Independent Food Processors. They have four children; Deb and Vic Ward of Selah, Phyliss and Pat Bopray of Spokane, Dale and Angela McLean of Bellevue, and Chip and Stacy McLean of Gresham, Ore. They also have eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to attend. The McLeans request “no gifts please.”
Gonzalez and Sanchez
Diana Sanchez and Adrian Gonzalez of Sunnyside will exchange wedding vows in a Catholic ceremony Saturday at Blessed Sacred Church in Grandview. An outdoor reception will follow in Prosser. The couple will be attended by nine groomsmen and nine bridesmaids. The future newlyweds plan to honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta. They will make Granger their first home. The bride to be is the daughter of Miquel and Isabel Sanchez. He is the son of Mario and Maria Gonzalez. The couple are both 2011 graduates of Sunnyside High School. He attended Wyo-Tech in Wyoming to study collision and repair. Gonzalez is currently employed at Bob Hall’s Greenway in Yakima. Sanchez is pursuing a degree in dental hygiene and is currently employed at Community Dental Care in Sunnyside.
A reception in honor newlyweds Drew and Meghan Puterbaugh will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday at 380 Green Valley Road. A dinner will follow at 6 p.m. Meghan Stadheim of Albert Lea, Minn., married Drew Puterbaugh of Mabton in ceremonies on Jan. 2, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. She is the daughter of Richard and Sarah Stadheim of Albert Lea and he is the son of Stacy and Diana Puterbaugh of Mabton. Serving as her maid of honor was Ella Johnson. Bridal attendants were Charlene Kuipers and Jade VanHolland. Levi Puterbaugh was best man. Groomsmen included Bennett Stadheim and Garret Stadheim. Ushers were Zach Wangen and Spencer Wangen. Previously, a wedding reception was held at the bride’s home in Albert Lea. She is a 2011 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2015 Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business. Puterbaugh is a 2013 Sunnyside Christian High School graduate and will graduate in the spring of 2017 from Dordt College. He is also working on his degree in agricultural business.
