Sunnyside detectives team with E'burg police on kidnapping incidents

Sunnyside Police Detective Scott Bailey met with detectives from the Ellensburg Police Department Tuesday to investigate the similarities between a set of robbery-kidnappings.

Sunnyside police are investigating the Dec. 16 kidnapping and robbery of a Sunnyside woman. The 24-year-old was abducted at gun point from Valley Lanes bowling alley and forced to get in her car, according to investigators. She was then forced into her car and taken to a local ATM machine, where one of her abductors withdrew money from her account.

About a week later a similar case occurred in Ellensburg.

"It does not appear to be the same guy from the surveillance videos," said Bailey.

Although police are still unsure if the cases are related, Bailey said "Sunnyside's case and Ellensburg's case are very similar. We're working together to see if we can gain information from each other's cases."

Anyone with information on the kidnapping-robberies can call the Sunnyside Police Department, 836-6204.
