William (Bill) Joseph (Red) Valler, 62, of Sunnyside and a former Grandview resident passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 8, 1941 in Prosser, the son of Mary (Massini) and Finey Valler. Bill worked for many years as an electrician after having served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He was a proud member of Grandview VFW Post #6929.

He enjoyed camping and fishing on the Columbia River and loved taking care of his farm and squirrels.

Bill is survived by his wife, Darlene Valler of Sunnyside; one son, Jess Valler and wife, Teresa; two grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Voeller and Tom Valler; and six sisters, Helen Finn, Rose Brownfield, Eva St. John, Frances Walvatne, Florence Brock and Delores Berg. He is also survived by six step-children, Ben, Danny and Andy Abrams, Vickey Moore, Sandy Kern and Johnny Howell; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Donna Valler; one brother, Clarence; and sister, Barbara.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
