The Yakima County Best SELF program is now accepting registrations for its summer program.

In partnership with the Sunnyside, Grandview and Mabton school districts, the program provides a safe and academically stimulating place for children during the summer months. Offered are daily academics, recreation, weekly field trips and service projects.

Open enrollment offers placement for children 5 to 12 years of age. The program operates a 10-hour day Monday through Friday, beginning June 21, for either six or eight weeks, depending on locations.

Information and application packets are now available in room 102 at the Yakima County Courthouse and at Harriet Thompson Elementary School in Grandview, Pioneer Elementary School in Sunnyside and Artz-Fox Elementary School in Mabton. Parents must have copies of their children's immunization records, emergency contact phone numbers, the dates of their children's last physical examination, proof of income and make a $30 deposit per child to register.
