William Price, 92, of Grandview died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at his home in Grandview after a long struggle with heart problems

He was born Feb. 7, 1912 in Eram, Okla. to Grover Cleveland Price and Mable (Sappington) Price. On June 19, 1931 he married Mary Elizabeth Collins in Bartelsvillle, Okla. On Oct. 1, 1936 William and Mary arrived in Mabton with their four children to start a new life in an era of the depression years. They made their home in various areas of eastern Washington. Farming was his primary occupation for many years. They operated the old Satus store for several years in the late 40’s and in 1957 he went to work in the Hanford area, retiring in 1977.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Packer Price of Grandview; one daughter, Monnette Moss and husband, Cecil, of Fircrest; two sons, Jerry and wife, Eula, of Yakima and Bert and wife, Ruby, of Grandview; one daughter-in-law; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geneva Gardner and husband, Hal, of Oysterville and Bertha Amelia Price of Oklahoma City, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, in October 1995; and one son, Robert, in May 2002.

Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. Those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to the First Baptist Church, 1107 Wright Ave., Richland, WA 99352.
