SELAH - Junior Kevin Lick's three-over 65 paced the way in the Sunnyside High School boys golf team's 280-395 non-league victory over the Riverside Christian Crusaders Monday afternoon.
Yesterday's win upped the Grizzly linksters' non-league record to 3-0 on the season. Monday's match at River Ridge Golf Course was a late addition to the Grizzlies' schedule.
In nabbing medalist honors yesterday, Lick was a full six strokes ahead of the next closest finisher-teammate Andrew Schutt.
Lick's highlight of the day came on holes 4 and 5, which he birdied and eagled. On No. 5, a par-4, 300-yard hole, he drove the green. Lick then sank a 15-foot putt for eagle.
Schutt's birdie-free round of 71 was filled with numerous pars, said Sunnyside Coach Glenn Braman. Not far back was Sunnyside's Ryan Webster, who carded a 75.
Three Sunnyside golfers tied for fourth low scores on the day. Chris Trammel, Jeramie Drollinger and Zach Hathaway all shot 84's. Rounding out the Grizzly scoring was Josh Ross' 105.
