MARIE K. DIETRICH
Marie K. Dietrich, 90, of Sunnyside died Tuesday, April 13,
2004, at Hillcrest Manor in Sunnyside.
She was born April 27, 1913 in Richland to the late William
and Elsie Fruehling. They were some of the pioneer family of the Richland community.
Marie received her education at the Richland schools. In 1938 she married
George Dietrich in Prosser. Together they made their home on a farm in
Richland, until the Atomic Energy Commission required them to move. In 1943 she
with her family moved to a farm in Outlook, where they farmed until retiring in
1981 and later moving to their home in Sunnyside.
She is survived by her son, Manford Dietrich (Monica) of
Sunnyside; one daughter, Delores Frink (Dick) of Bellevue; five grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Steffens of Pasco and Wanda
Jackson of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one brother, Clarence Fruehling of Kennewick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in May
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, April 16, 2004,
from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 17, 2004, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Smith
Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 17,
2004, at 2 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, under the
direction of Smith Funeral Home.
PATRICIA L. WHITNER
Patricia (Pat) L. Whitner, 74, of Sunnyside died Wednesday,
April 14, 2004, at Hillcrest Manor.
She was born March 21, 1930 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter
of Therese (Bernklau) and Robert Ziska.
She graduated from Bremerton High School with the class of 1948.
On Dec. 18, 1948 she married Paul Whitner at
Bremerton. Following their marriage they made their home in Bremerton. She
moved to Sunnyside in 1950.
She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Robertson and
husband, Mike, of Sunnyside and Paula Delorme and husband, Donald, of Montana;
two sons, Gerald Whitner and wife, NamSun and Kenneth Whitner and wife, Kathy,
all of Goldendale;
12 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, AnnaMae Travis of Grandview and Marilyn
Hunter of Washington; and one brother, Charles Ziska of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul;
one brother, Robert Ziska; and one sister, Myrtle Schwartz.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, April 16,
2004, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday,
2004, from 9 a.m.
until 2:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
Graveside funeral services will be held
Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 3:30 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens,
Sunnyside, under direction of Smith Funeral Home.
