WEST VALLEY - Windy weather conditions forced the Sunnyside and West Valley high school boys golf teams off Apple Tree Golf Course yesterday afternoon.
"We couldn't even see," said Sunnyside Coach Glenn Braman. "It was like a dirt bowl up there."
The two squads got in nine holes of play before the non-league match was cancelled, though. Sunnyside's Andrew Schutt posted the low round on the front nine, carding a one-over 37. Teammate Kevin Lick was two strokes back with a 39. Ryan Webster of Sunnyside also had a good front nine, posting a 41.
"I thought the scores were very good, considering the weather conditions," Braman said.
Tuesday's non-league match will not be made up, said Braman.
The Grizzly golfers are back in action this coming Thursday at their home Black Rock Creek course, entertaining both West Valley and Ellensburg in league play.
