Bob Hall of Sunnyside made up a two-stroke deficit this past Sunday, shooting a four-under 68, to win a Black Rock Creek Men's Club Association tournament.
Hall trailed Sunnyside's Bud Schatz by two strokes after Saturday's play, but turned up the heat on Sunday to edge Schatz by a single stroke in the two-day tourney. The winner carded a three-over 75 Saturday. Schatz was the first day leader with a one-over 73. Schatz's final round was a one-under 71.
For his efforts, Hall netted $80 in pro shop merchandise. The runner-up Schatz earned $70.
Third place honors, worth $60 in pro shop credit, went to Tom Diener, who posted rounds of 79 on Saturday and 77 on Sunday.
There was a three-way tie for fourth place honors. Shooting identical two-day totals of 158 were Buzz Blake (78-80), Jack Syverson (80-78) and Eddie Joe Risk (82-76). The trio shared the fourth place prize of $50.
Also competing in the tournament were Pete Veliz (82-82), Bob Hicks (90-83) and Randy Boast (92-82).
