MABTON - The parents of 13-year-old Angelo Salinas of Mabton are asking Lower Valley residents to be on the lookout for their son's pick-up truck.
Mrs. Salinas said the 1996 charcoal gray Nissan pick-up was stolen from in front of their Pine Street home in Mabton at about 5 a.m. this morning (Wednesday).
"I saw the thief pulling away from the house," she said.
Angelo's parents purchased the vehicle for their son, "...and he was eagerly waiting for the day he could get his license to drive it," said his mother. "He's even drawn pictures of how he wants to fix it up," she added.
Mrs. Salinas said her son is currently away at baseball camp. She said she isn't looking forward to telling him that a car thief made away with his truck.
In hopes of gaining the return of the pick-up truck, which features chrome wheels, the Salinas family is asking Lower Valley residents to keep an eye out for the vehicle.
"If anyone sees it, we're asking that they call us (894-4353) or the Mabton Police Department," Mrs. Salinas said.
