Albert Barr, 70, of Sunnyside died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004.

He was born Jan. 6, 1934 in Arriba, Colo. to Ralph and Anna Barr. He moved as a child with his family to Outlook in 1942. He attended Outlook Elementary School and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On May 20, 1955 he married Patricia Trusley.

He was an engineer at Hanford for 32 years. He farmed and ranched in the Lower Valley all of his life.

He is survived by his children, Cathy Blankenship and husband, Dorman, of Prosser, Chuck Barr and wife, Ruth, and Christina Duggins and husband, Rick, all of Sunnyside; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Krieger of Zillah; one brother, Jim Barr of Washougal; two sister-in-laws;

and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Carl Barr, in July 2003.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
