PARKER - Early this morning (Thursday), rescue workers located three people who were reported missing after failing to return from an inner tube floating trip down the Yakima River near Wapato.
Wednesday, Aug. 11, the Yakima County Sheriff's Office received a call that three people, two adults and one child, who were inner tubing in the Yakima River near Wapato had not shown up at their intended destination. The report came in about 10:30 p.m., and the trio reportedly began floating down the river at 7 p.m.
According to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, deputies and members of the Yakama Tribal Police began searching for the individuals, with two of the tribal officers using a drift boat to perform a water search. The two tribal officers found the three missing individuals around 4 a.m., about two miles below the Donald bridge.
According to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, the three were found in good health. They chose to not reveal their names to the news media.
