Suspected child molester arraigned

Genero Rosas-Perez, 29, of Sunnyside was arraigned Aug. 18, and officially charged with first degree child molestation in Yakima County Superior Court.

Rosas-Perez was arrested by Sunnyside police officers after he allegedly molested a 10-year-old Sunnyside girl. Police are still investigating the incident, but had enough evidence to arrest Rosas-Perez and have him arraigned on charges.

An initial trial date has been set for Oct. 4. Patty Powers is the prosecuting attorney for the case.
