Sunnyside Public Works Director Ken Ott had good news for the Sunnyside City Council last week.
With the excess money left over from the Riverside Avenue paving project, which is in the process of having the final touches put on it, the city will be tackling Heffron Road.
"That will be a paved street," said Ott.
Ott said the city had budgeted $48,000 for the improvements that were made to Riverside Avenue. However, the project only cost $22,000. City workers will be doing the prepatory work along Heffron Road and by the time the project is complete, the city should still come out with an additional $7,000 remaining.
Heffron Road will be slightly larger than it is now as a gravel surface. Currently, the road measures 22-feet wide. Once the road is paved it will measure 24-feet wide.
Ott said the project is expected to be completed sometime in September.
