Couples compete in weekly golf play

The winners in weekly golf play for couples at Black Rock Creek Golf Course have been announced for the month of August.

Wednesday, Aug. 25, the eight-person squad of Johnny Greenaulgh and Dottie Aiken, Robert and Larna Munn, Al and Bobbie Turner, and Doc and Dianne Storslee carded an even-par 36. Low net winners with a handicap-aided 24 was the team of Bud and Barb Schatz, John and Rose Fleming, Ken and Rae Ann Goin, and Harry Lohman and Madelynne Kassebaum. Flag event winners that evening were Dottie Aiken for the closest chip on No. 2, Ken Goin for KP honors on No. 5, John Fleming for longest putt on No. 7 and Rae Ann Goin for KP honors on No. 9.

Shooting a three-under 33 for top honors on Wednesday, Aug. 18, was the team of Loran and Theresa Hancock, Harry Lohman and Madelynne Kassebaum, Stan and Connie Davis, and Bud and Barb Schatz. Low net winners, with a 14-under 22, were Rod and Kathy Rupert, Robert and Larna Munn, Gus and Karen Gustafson, and John and Rose Fleming. Flag event winners included Larna Munn for closest chip on No. 10, Bud Schatz for KP honors on No. 12, Marv Bonny for closest chip on No. 16 and Larna Munn for KP honors on No. 17.

The low round posted Wednesday, Aug. 11, was a one-under 35, claimed by the squad of Stan and Connie Davis, Johnny Greenaulgh and Dottie Aiken, Gus and Karen Gustafson, and Doc and Dianne Storslee. Low net winners, with a 12-under 26, were Gene and Mary Ann Bliesner, Doc and Dianne Storslee, and Harry Lohman and Madelynne Kassebaum. Flag event winners were Stan Davis for closest chip on No. 11, Connie Davis for KP honors on No. 12 and Karen Gustafson for closest chip on No. 18.
