Ramon D. Rodriquez, age 87, of Yakima, and longtime Sunnyside resident died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 12, 1917 in Refugio, TX, the son of Julia (Diases) and Carlos Rodriquez. He married Martina Salinas. They have made Sunnyside their home since 1947.

He is survived by five sons, Ramon Rodriquez of Richland, Tony Rodriquez of Kennewick, Chico Rodriquez of Mabton, Richard Rodriquez of Yakima and Joe Rodriguez of Sunnyside. He is also survived by two daughters, Janie Kranz and Ester Smith, both of Yakima. Two brothers, Agustin Rodriquez and Carlos Rodriquez, and two sisters, Maria Flores and Rebecca Amador.

Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the evening to begin at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Burial with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
