Tough Gloves amateur boxing

on tap Jan. 14-15

YAKIMA - Got a tough guy in your family? If so, you might consider a Christmas gift for him or her of a ticket to the Tough Gloves amateur boxing event at the Yakima Valley SunDome, scheduled for Jan. 14-15.

Discounted advanced tickets are now on sale at the SunDome box office. Tough Gloves organizers say the special holiday prices are set at $10 for general admission tickets, which represents a $5 savings.

The knockdown, drag-out boxing matches are expected to feature 40 men and women from the Yakima Valley, all willing to climb into the ring to duke it out for trophies and the title, "Toughest in Town." The doors both nights will open at 7 p.m., with the matches scheduled to start an hour later.

Organizers say there are still openings for those who want to compete. Application forms are available by calling 1-888-868-4462.
