Sewing seminar set for January

YAKIMA - Area seamstresses are invited to experiment, embellish, explore and expand their creative horizons at the 2005 Yakima County Clothing and Textile Advisors sewing seminar to be held in late January.

Award winning fiber artist Ann Bowker of Yakima will be the keynote speaker, sharing her creative inspiration for art garb design with those who register to attend the Jan. 29 seminar.

Bowker, an artist in residence at Heritage University in Toppenish, will share ideas for designing wearable art, as well as construction techniques to make garments more distinctive.

Registration is now being taken for the event, to be held at the Red Lion Gateway Hotel in Yakima. Cost to attend the design workshop is $35.
