JEANE ALLEN

JEANE ALLEN

Jeane Allen, 82, of Prosser and a former Mabton resident, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Kadlec Medical Center, Richland.

She was born July 26, 1921 in Barnsdall, Okla., the daughter of Jessie (Lilley) and Russell Markland. She received her education in Oklahoma and Kansas. On June 8, 1941 she married Albert E. Allen in Wichita, Kan. Following their marriage they lived in Kansas before moving to Washington in 1947. They lived in Mabton and Granger before settling in Prosser.

She worked for John Deer in Sunnyside for several years and retired from Old National Bank in Prosser after 17 years.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Albert Allen of Prosser; one daughter, Doris Monson and husband, Chuck, of Spokane; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Grandview. Those wishing to honor Mrs. Allen’s memory may contribute to the Prosser Senior Center.

ETHEL SEAT STROPE GREEN

Ethel Seat Strope Green, 97, of Selah and a former Grandview resident, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Landmark Care Center, Yakima.

She was the seventh of 13 children born to Nora Barr and William Cuatt in Oberlin, Kan. On Sept. 1, 1922 she married Earl Seat at Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho, then resided in Prosser, Walnut Grove, later moving to Grandview. Mr. Seat died in 1939. She married W.A. Strope in 1944 and they farmed on Cherry Lane for 44 years. Mr. Strope died in 1979. In 1986 she married Oren Green in Monroe. Mr. Green died in 1990.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Cotton of Selah, Lucile Tucker of Tacoma and Iola (Tootie) Henne of Pasco; one daughter-in-law, Dona Seat; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Earl Seat, Wright Strope and Oren Green; two daughters, Evelyn and Helen; one son, Glen Seat; four brothers; eight sisters; one granddaughter.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, from noon to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Sunnyside Memorial Park.

TRINIDAD VENEGAS MORENO

Trinidad Venegas Moreno, 80, of Mabton passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Sunnyside.

She was born July 22, 1923 to Doroteo and Cresencia (Venegas) Moreno in Gallup, N. M.

She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and gardening.

She is survived by one brother, Tomas Moreno of San Antonio, Texas; two nieces, Virginia Tellez and family of Mabton and Antonia Martinez and family of Sunnyside; two nephews, Serapio Herrera and family of Mabton and Manuel Herrera II and family of Sunnyside; and numerous nieces and nephews from Sunnyside, Mabton area Seattle and Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Maria Moreno Herrera, Elidia Moreno and Elenda Rodriguez.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Mabton Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
