Eliazar (Eli) Botello Gonzalez, 66, of Sunnyside went to be with our Creator Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at his sister’s home surrounded by his family.

Eli was born March 17, 1937 in Weslaco, Texas to the late Rev. Marcelino Gonzalez and Genoveva B. Gonzalez. Eli, having only received a sixth grade education, was a very educated man in his own way. Eli migrated to Sunnyside in 1955 to work in agriculture. He later worked for the railroad for many years, retiring two years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Julie Gonzalez of Dundee, Ore.; his mother, Genoveve B. Gonzalez; two sons, John Gonzalez of Port Orchard and Eliazar Gonzalez of Puyallup; two daughters, Kelly Gonzalez Taylor of Oregon and Lisa Gonzalez McKinney of the Tri-Cities; five step-daughters, Cynthia and Melissa, both of Oregon, and Alma, Bobbie and Ada, all of Washington; one step-son, Reymundo Alvarado; five brothers, David Gonzalez and wife, Margie, of Chino Hills, Calif., Daniel Gonzalez and wife, Dalia, John Gonzalez and wife, Diane, Fred Gonzalez and wife, Mary Alice, all of Sunnyside and Ruben Gonzalez and wife, Frances, of Harrah; and four sisters, Rachel Gonzalez, Emma Centeno and husband, Isidro, Martha Gonzalez and husband, Ramon, all of Sunnyside, and Alice Lopez and husband, Daniel, of Grandview.

He was preceded in death by his father,

Rev. Marcelino Gonzalez in 2002; two nephews; and two nieces.

Eli left a lot of himself in our homes with his carpentry talent. We love you and we will hold you in our hearts for always.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, from 3 to 8 p.m. with an evening service at 6:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, under the direction of Smith Funeral home.


Angel Joel Rivas Villalobos, infant son of Tomas and Sarah Rivas-Villalobos Jr. of Sunnyside, has taken his place in heaven Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004.

Angel is survived by his parents, Tomas and Sara Rivas-Villalobos Jr.; one big sister, Candyce Janáe; grandparents, Steven and Gracie Mozdziesc, Rudy Piná and Tomas and Maria Villalobos Sr.; and great grandparents, Raymundo and Carolina Palomarez Rivas. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, Rudy and Molly Ramos of Sunnyside, Israel Rivas and Jolene Bishop of Grandview, Raymundo and Christina Rivas Jr. of Sunnyside, Rigo Rivas and Michelle Signorelli of Kennewick, Cristal and Israel Rivas of Sunnyside, Becky Piná of Granger, Belinda Piná of Maple Valley, Melly Villalobos of Mabton, Roque and Griselda Arriaga of Mabton, Ramon and Edith Villalobos of Mabton, Valentin and Rosa Villalobos of Mabton, Gerado and Ruby Villalobos Gomez of Mabton, Ilesenia Villalobos of Mabton and Rocio Villalobos of Mabton.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
