Leonora “Norah” (Valdez) Green, 54, of Sunnyside died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Prosser Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 15, 1949 in Lovington, N.M., the daughter of Juanita (Zavala) and Roberto Valdez. She spent most of her life in the Yakima Valley. She received her education from Yakima Valley College, Tacoma Community College and Wesleyan College in Georgia. She was a registered chemical dependency counselor for the state of Washington and a certified para educator for the state of Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Green Jr. of Macon, Ga.; six children, Monica Guillen and husband, Daniel, Corina Lozano, Sonya Valdez, Michael Angelo Moreno, all of Sunnyside, Servando Lozano III of California and Janaye Pennafiel and husband, Rafael, of Grandview; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mali Ramirez of Sunnyside and Rosemary Gomes of Portsmouth, R.I.; and three brothers, Robert Valdez of Carson City, Nev., Rafael Valdez of Tacoma and Antonio Valdez of Seattle.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.
