SHS Grizzly freshmen come out on short end

GRANDVIEW - The Sunnyside High School freshman boys basketball team saw any hopes of a perfect season come to a screeching halt this past Saturday at Grandview. And, Sunnyside freshman coach Eric Lindstrand will be the first to tell you most of it is his fault.

The Greyhound freshman squad built on a 30-11 halftime lead to defeat Sunnyside 56-31.

"Grandview came out ready and we weren't ready for them," said Lindstrand. "Part of it was a lack of preparation on my part."

Hunter Van de Graaf provided about the only highlight for the Grizzlies, tallying 12 points. Teammate B.J. Miller snagged five rebounds.

"We were just having a hard time running our offense," said Lindstrand. "It was one of those games where we didn't shoot well."

Sunnyside's freshmen (5-1) are scheduled to play this weekend at Hanford on Friday and back at home against Ellensburg on Saturday.
