Scam ID'd

The Sunnyside Police Department has issued a warning that scam artists have been telephoning Sunnyside residents and telling them they have won a sweepstakes, along with magazine subscriptions, according to Det. Scott Bailey of the local agency.

The callers ask for personal information and credit card numbers. Victims who have reported the scam told police that when they have refused to provide the information the callers hung up.

Anyone receiving similar calls should not give out any personal information. They can report such calls to the Sunnyside Police Department, 836-6204.
