The brother and sister combination of Dave and Stephanie Stokes won the 2004 firecracker golf tournament at Black Rock Creek Golf Course over the weekend.
The Stokes family took first place in gross play with an even-par 72. Even though it didn't factor in, the two had the smallest team handicap of any duo playing in the tournament with a 7.88.
The husband and wife duo of Bud and Barb Schatz won net play with a handicap-aided 57. The Schatzs carried a team handicap of 16.78.
Ty Schatz and Delores Dasso claimed runner-up honors in gross play with a two-over 74. Third place honors in gross play went to the combination of Pete Veliz and Betty Cabbage with a three-over par 75. Bob Hall and Michelle Hall were fourth in gross play with a combined round of 78.
Chuck and Elva Mattocks ended up second in net play with around of 59. The Mattocks had a team handicap of 28.74. Placing third in net play were Don and Joyce Patterson with a 59. The Pattersons took a team handicap of 18.41 into tournament play. Doug and Sue Proudlock were fourth in net play (22.98 handicap). The Proudlocks carded a handicap round of 60 in net play.
Gene Bliesner, Bruce Fitterer, Marlana Williams, Peggy Early, Doc Storslee, Ty Schatz, Dave Stokes and Nancy Young were all winners in the various hole competitions.
