Free swimming lessons

for children

The Sunnyside Municipal Swimming Pool is offering free swimming lessons for children, during family swim time at the city pool.

Classes will be held Wednesdays, July 21, Aug. 4 and 18, from 6:30 to 7 p.m.. Classes are free with paid admission into the pool.

Water aerobics classes underway

The Sunnyside Municipal Swimming Pool is now offering water aerobic classes, 6 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, during family swim time at the city pool.

The water aerobics class is free, with paid admission into the pool.

Youthes offered ‘Fun In The Sun’

What are your children do this summer? Fill their mornings with arts and craft projects, games and more at "Fun In the Sun" camp being held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to Noon, at South Hill Park.

Pre-registration is required and the cost per session is $4.80 in-city and $6 non-city. Session #5 is set for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 12, 13, and 14.

‘Lots 4 Tots’ planned at South Hill Park

The Sunnyside Parks and Recreation has openings in "Lots 4 Tots" on Thursday mornings.

This program is for boys and girls ages 3 to 5 years and has games, crafts, playtime, story-time and lots more. Session dates are set Thursdays, July 15, 22, 29 and Aug. 5. Lot 4 Tots is held from 10 a.m.

until noon at South Hill Park.

Registration is required at Sunnyside Parks and Recreation Office, 818 E. Edison Ave, City Hall, Sunnyside.

The fee is $1.50 in-city and $1.80 non-city, per date.

All American Drill Team Camp

It's time to consider signing up for the eight Annual All-American Drill Team Camp, which is open to youngster in second through sixth grades, to be held in September.

Participants will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Sept. 14, 15, 16

and 17, from 3:30 until

5 p.m., at the Sunnyside High School parking lot.

The drill team will perform during the Sunshine Days Parade Saturday, Sept. 18.

Registration fee, which includes at t-shirt and pom-poms, is $30 per child. The camp features instruction in precision marching, turns and hand movements with pom poms.
