Vikettes to host ‘Summer Scream’

MABTON - Lower Valley teens are being asked to mark Sunday, July 25, on their entertainment calendars.

The Mabton High School Vikettes are hosting "Teen Summer Scream" that day, at the Silver Dollar in Mabton.

The fun gets underway at 9 p.m. and lasts until midnight.

The Vikettes promise the latest hits when it comes to the music that will be bouncing off the walls of the Dollar that night. Rapping battles are also scheduled.

Tickets for the 20 and under crowd event are priced at $5 for singles and $7 for couples. Those who pay at the door will be charged an additional dollar.

Prosser pancake feed set for Sunday, July 25

PROSSER - An all-you-can-eat pancake feed will be held at the Prosser Activity Center Sunday, July 25.

The menu for the 8 a.m. to noon breakfast will consist of pancakes, ham, eggs, applesauce, coffee and juice. The cost will be $4 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12.

Funds raised at the breakfast will benefit senior citizen activities at the center, located at 1231 Dudley Ave.

Evergreen State Fair to feature Frampton, Sawyer Brown, freestyle motocross

MONROE - Real country, real fun. That's what Evergreen State Fair organizers are promising this year.

Billed as "the land of milk and honey," this year's fair will be staged in Monroe from Aug. 26 through Sept. 6.

Fair entertainment will include the Smothers Brothers, Stacie Orrico, Sawyer Brown and Peter Frampton. And always a big hit, X-Treme Freestyle Motocross and Monster Madness return to the fairgrounds this year. Of course, Pro West Rodeo action, a perennial favorite, makes its return, as well.
