Clara Agnes Hooker, 99, of Sunnyside, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her home.

Agnes was born Oct. 2, 1904 in Bickleton, the daughter of (Mary) Stegeman and Charlie Hooker. She was a member of one of the early pioneer families of the Bickleton area.

Following her education she continued to make her home near Bickleton, where she was engaged in farming with her parents. After her father’s death in 1962 Agnes and her mother continued the farming operation.

Her mother died in 1966 and Agnes continued to make her home on the ranch until moving to Sunnyside in 1970.

Agnes was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sunnyside.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Gale and Randy Blankenship of Bickleton, Jean Stephenson of Sunnyside, Dorothy and Raleigh Hardin of Brewster, Valera Reibstein of Palm Springs, Calif., Tom

and Sherry Johnson of Wauconda and Jim Johnson of Moses Lake.

She is also survived by her beloved caregiver, Marie Orozco.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, July 18, 2004, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 19, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bickleton I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home. Those wishing to honor her memory may contribute to Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church.
