S’side city pool opens Saturday

Get out the beach towels and sun tan lotion. The Sunnyside city pool opens for the summer this coming Saturday, June 5.

Local parks and rec officials report that swim passes are now on sale.

"The most economical way to swim all summer is with the purchase of a season swim pass," said Joan Niemeyer, assistant parks and rec director.

She explained that daily admission fees are priced at $2.50 for anyone older than eight years of age. Daily admission fees for youngsters three to seven years of age are $1.50.

But for those who plan on making a trip to the city pool a regular part of their routine this summer, purchasing a season swim pass is the way to go. Niemeyer said the season passes are priced at $50 for individuals living within the city limits, $65 for others. Family passes are priced at $112.50 for in-city residents, $150 for families living outside the city limits. Niemeyer said families are considered a mother, father and their immediate minor-aged children living in the same household. Season passes are currently being sold at the Sunnyside parks and rec office during regular business hours.
