Boy Scout Troop #635 members (L-R) Jon Martin, Dane Smith and Jeff Martin will be receiving their Eagle awards Saturday night at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony to be held at Sunnyside LDS Church. The boys each earned at least 21 merit badges and completed a community service project requiring at least 100 to 150 volunteer hours.

An Eagle Scout Court of Honor will be held Saturday, June 5, at 6 p.m. at the Sunnyside LDS Church.

Three scouts from Troop #635 will be receiving their Eagle awards: Jon Martin, Dane Smith and Jeff Martin.

The three scouts have been active in scouting since they were eight and have each earned at least 21 merit badges. To earn the Eagle Scout recognition, they had to complete a service project requiring at least 100 to 150 hours of community service.

Jeff Martin completed a service project involving reading at summer school at Chief Kamiakin Elementary School.

Smith's project involved organizing a group of volunteers to refinish and add benches and landscaping to the gazebo in Upland Park. Jon Martin's project involved scouts from Troop #635 making and placing mile markers on the Sunnyside Grandview pathway.

Across the nation, only about two of every 100 boys who begin scouting receive the Eagle rank.

The Court of Honor ceremony is open to the public.
