WSP seeks

hit-and-run motorist who killed pedestrian

GRANGER - The Washington State Patrol is seeking any information that may lead troopers to the motorist who struck and killed 34-year-old Vanessa D. Cree of Toppenish last Friday night.

Cree was killed at about 10:15 p.m. Friday, June 4, while walking along State Route 223, just north of South Track Road near Granger. She was found lying in the southbound lane.

The WSP is looking for an unknown type of vehicle that might possibly have damage to the front bumper or grill. Detectives have seized a vehicle of interest and crime lab technicians are expected to examine it for evidence of the collision. At this point, though, the collision is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about Friday's hit-and-run mishap is asked to call Sgt. Ken Harkcom at (509) 249-6741.
