Shooting investigation continues

Sunnyside police detectives are continuing the investigation into a shooting, which left two men seriously injured.

Detectives were able to travel to Harborview Medical Center to question Jose M. Solano, 47, one of the men involved in the shooting, according to Capt. Phil Schenck of the Sunnyside Police Department.

Police officers were called to the 700 block of Cemetery Road Thursday, June 10, on a report of shots fired. When police arrived they found two men, Solano and Jose Espindola, 29, had shot each other.

Both men were taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital and later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Espindola remains in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit, while Solano has been upgraded to satisfactory.

Police are investigating the case and looking into who shot first in the incident.

Schenck said they are still trying to narrow down some of the facts and chase down some of the witnesses.

"There's no clear victim in this thing," he added.
