Home & Home results announced

Bud Schatz of Sunnyside bested the field at the Home & Home golf competition staged at Black Rock Creek Golf Course two Sundays ago.

One competition remains in the three-part series, to be held at Goldendale Golf Course on Sunday, June 27. The first of the competitions was staged last month at Toppenish's Mt. Adams Country Club.

Schatz fired an even-par 72 at Black Rock Creek two Sundays ago. He bested all of the amateurs in the field, as well as the three PGA club pros who were competing.

The only other golfer to shoot a sub-80 round was Black Rock Creek club pro Jeff Bender. He was one shot back of Schatz, posting a one-over 73.

Prosser's Eddie Joe Risk was one of four golfers to tie for third place honors overall. He, along with Mt. Adams Country Club members Bob Greene, Todd Lenseigne and assistant club pro Aaron Hunsaker all shot eight-over 80's.

The low round posted by a member of Goldendale Golf Course was an 87, claimed by Jeff Fields.

Schatz and Lenseigne tied for low net of field honors in the competition (actual score minus handicap). Both recorded a 65-seven strokes below their scoring average.
