For the second year in a row Bob Hall Jr. of New York Life and Hall Financial of Sunnyside was invited to participate in the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premiere Association of Financial Professionals, annual meeting. His father ,Bob Hall Sr., who has been an MDRT member for 37 years, also took part in the five-day conference held in Anaheim, Calif.
The Halls attended the meetings, which are geared toward those in the financial services and life insurance industry June 12-16.
To be invited to be a part of the Million Dollar Round Table, Bob Hall Jr. said he is required to achieve certain sales levels.
"It's not a New York Life conference and it's not just life insurance," said Hall. "People from the insurance and the financial planning industry attend," he said.
This year, 7,000 industry professionals gathered for the MDRT, according to Hall.
As a part of the convention, Hall said he learned state-of-the-art concepts and methods of improving life insurance, financial and client services.
"We learned about changes in state tax laws and ways to improve customer services," said Hall.
Experts in the areas of estate planning, taxes, business and law shared during the workshop sessions held at the event. Hall added that speakers intended to inspire those attending the round table conference.
One of the speakers, said Hall, was Dr. Marius Barnard, the medical doctor who assisted the first human heart transplant in 1967.
Queen Noor of Jordan also spoke to the group, as did Loung Ung, a survivor of the killing fields of Cambodia, said Hall. Musical artists also performed as part of the time dedicated to the main platform.
"The main platforms will inspire you. We'll laugh, we'll cry. They get you inspired and they get you fired up," said Hall.
MDRT is an international, independent association of more than 29,000, or less than 1 percent, of the world's best life insurance and financial services professionals.
Members of the organization live in 74 countries and territories.
Bob Hall Jr. has been in the life insurance business for the past nine years. His father, Bob Hall Sr., has been working in the industry for the past 40 years.
