GRANDVIEW - A homeowner on Pleasant Avenue in Grandview came home early Wednesday evening to find jewelry had been taken from the top of a bedroom dresser, said Grandview Police Detective Mark Ware.
Ware said the burglary reportedly took place between 1 and 4:30 p.m. when the homeowner was away from their home in the 200 block of Pleasant Avenue.
Ware said police couldn't find any point of forced entry, but did find two shoe prints outside the back door of the home.
"It looks like they walked in and cleaned out the jewelry box," Ware said, noting that the homeowner believes they may have left the back door unlocked.
The value of the jewelry taken from the home is estimated at $3,000, Ware said. He said there are currently no suspects in the case, which is under investigation by the Grandview Police Department.
This incident brings the total number of burglaries reported in Grandview to seven since this past Monday.
